The governor of the Belgorod region in western Russia, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced that two people were killed today as a result of the explosion of an unknown piece of ammunition.
Russia Today website quoted Gladkov as saying: Two people, a man and his wife, were killed in the village of Starosil, Krasnoyarozhsky region, as a result of the explosion of an unknown type of ammunition.
Gladkov added: All necessary investigative measures have been taken to find out and determine the reason for the couple's coming to the village, pointing out that entering the residential centers in which the state of emergency was imposed is prohibited without the approval of the heads of regions.
