Saudi Arabia continues to celebrate the sensational 1:2 win over Argentina yesterday (Monday) in the first round of the 2022 World Cup. However, apart from the sporting surprise, one of the defining moments of the game was the serious injury of Yasser Al-Sharani.
During the second half, the left defender received a knee from his fellow goalkeeper, needed treatment in the hall and was taken to a stretcher.
It was later learned that Al-Sharani suffered from fractures in his jaw and other bones in his face, and even internal bleeding in the area, which forced him to undergo surgery.
According to reports in the Muslim country, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered a private plane to be sent to Qatar and send Al-Sharani for surgery in Germany.
Unfortunately for the surprising team of the first round, Al-Sharani is expected to miss the rest of the tournament.
