A literary meeting celebrating the experience of the poet, doctor, Nizar Brik Huneidi, in the Sweida Writers Union

Writer and poet Dr. Nizar Brik Huneidi was a celebrated guest at the Arab Writers Union branch in As-Suwayda today, as part of a literary meeting during which he presented poetic selections and intellectual insights that reflect aspects of his rich experience.

The poet Huneidi recited a number of short poems bearing the titles (It is poetry, even if it was mine, secrets, perdition, my heart, and so far, and the little, the little that was), and two long poems (In front of the mind) on Abu Al-Alaa Al-Maari and (Trees Wearing the Storm), where he relied on indication, suggestion, and allusion in proposing And the extrapolation of intellectual, human and existential meanings through texts that carry multiple readings within the structure of the poem.

During an open meeting with the audience of writers, writers and intellectuals, the poet Huneidi explained his vision of many issues about his concept of poetry, its purposes, role and style in building the poem, his view of heritage, the employment of myth and symbol in poetry, writing for children and others.

He pointed out that during his career, he experimented with most forms of writing, from vertical to iambic poetry, prose poems, long poems, and short stylized poems, considering that poetry cannot achieve itself unless it is art in the first place and stems from a realistic or intellectual life experience that requires expression and formulation of that art if it is an experience. Living with reality, ideas, imagination, dreams, visions of the future, attitude towards the past, etc., indicating that true poetry is the one that expresses the intimacy of inner revelation, the authenticity of human essence, and the human relationship with things, assets, and major cosmic questions.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Habaq Al-Ateeq group honored the poet Huneidy in recognition of his literary, creative and professional career.

Wijdan Abu Mahmoud, head of the Arab Writers Union branch in As-Suwayda, pointed out in a statement to SANA reporter that the poet Huneidi is one of the pioneer poets who founded contemporary Syrian poetry, in addition to being a critic of many books and literary studies, shedding light on his long and rich experience that extends for more than 45 years. Years that gain great importance and give impetus to writing and creativity.
