About ten people were injured this morning (Wednesday) at the entrance to the city of Jerusalem from an explosion that occurred near a bus station.
According to MDA, one of the injured is in critical condition, and another is in serious condition. The security system is investigating whether this was an attack caused by an explosive device planted at the site.
MDA teams that arrived at the scene gave the injured medical treatment and evacuated them to the hospital.
The wounded in serious condition were taken to Shaare Zedek Hospital, three others to Hadassah Ein Kerem and another person to Hadassah Mount Scopus.
"I was standing at a traffic light and heard the explosion at the bus stop. I arrived at the scene within a few seconds and ran into a young man who was mortally wounded," recalled Yosef Gabai, a medic from the Rescue Union who arrived first on the scene after the explosion.
"I began to give him first aid while I asked the rescue union center to call all the emergency forces to the scene. During the treatment, three more wounded people came to me who were conscious, suffering from bruises and injuries."
"I arrived at the scene to help the victims," said Michael Grosscott, another medic of the Rescue Union.
"After the initial assistance we gave them at the scene of the incident, they were referred to the Hadassah Ein Kerem and Shaare Zedek hospitals suffering from cuts, injuries, and lacerations. Also, the resilience unit of the Rescue Union provided assistance to a number of anxiety victims."
