If they had binoculars, Lvov and Andrei could see the Russian forces hidden in the vast carpets of thickets, less than a kilometer away, separated from them only by a bend in the Dnieper.
Otherwise, they hear them.

Both hold a position, among the countless that dot the new front line following the curves of the river.

Shifting, these posts now spread out and were reinforced over some 300 km of the lower course of the river between Zaporijjia, to the north, and Mykolaiv to the south.
