Special correspondent in Arles (Bouches-du-Rhône)
In the Francis Espéjo arena, located in Arles (Bouches-du-Rhône), Fabien Castellani, 22, stands opposite Lysio, 14.
The first, muleta (cloak) and
ayuda
(help) in hand, advances little by little towards the second, equipped with a pair of

(horns).
Then Lysio, “toro” for the occasion, rushes towards Fabien, who dodges it and connects the passes.
At the other end of the arena, Andy and Lucas, 10 and 12, do the same.
All under the watchful and critical eye of their volunteer teachers, Graziella Bortolin and Mehdi Savalli.
Every Wednesday and Saturday, this “living room bullfight” is repeated tirelessly, when pupils and teachers are not attending the bullfighting demonstrations in France and Spain.
Welcome to the bullfighting school in Arles, founded in 1988, which welcomes 11 boys this year, the oldest aged 25 and the youngest 5 years old.
