A 25-year-old Guinean was stabbed to death on Tuesday in Bordeaux and his 35-year-old companion was arrested, said the prosecution on Wednesday, which opened an investigation for intentional homicide of a spouse.
The crime took place in their apartment in the Le Treuil residence, rue Brascassat.
The police, informed by a witness, discovered the body in the couple's apartment.
The victim, who had a " penetrating
" wound
in the chest, could not be resuscitated by the emergency services, according to a police source at AFP.
The autopsy should confirm that a stab wound caused the fatal injury.
The concubine who was present at the scene when the police arrived was hospitalized in psychiatry, because her condition was deemed incompatible with police custody.
Known for bipolar disorder, she was the subject of medical monitoring, said the prosecution.
