Stadtwerke Bad Tölz are now announcing their prices from January 1, 2023.

The working price in the Tölzgas tariff has almost doubled.

Bad Tölz –

It was foreseeable that the prices for electricity and gas would also rise significantly at the Tölzer Stadtwerke.

The company has now informed its customers exactly how high the increase will be.

The working price for gas, for example, has almost doubled: In the Tölzgas tariff, it has risen from the previous 7.40 cents (price as of January 1, 2022) to 13.95 cents per kilowatt hour and thus by around 88 percent.

Considerably, but not quite so steeply upwards is the stream.

Here the energy price in the Tölzstrom tariff increases by around 47 percent compared to January 1, 2022, from 29.80 to 43.85 cents per kilowatt hour.

Labor prices almost twice as high

In a statement, Stadtwerke spokeswoman Martina Geisberger emphasizes that the local basic supplier is still doing well compared to other energy providers.

The Tölzer Stadtwerke is one of the few providers who will keep the electricity and gas prices for household customers stable until the end of the year.

In the case of gas, only the so-called gas storage and balancing charges were passed on this year.

Some of the customers - depending on consumption - can even contribute to a small repayment due to the abolition of the EEG surcharge for electricity and the measures to brake gas prices and reduce VAT, which is calculated for gas and local heating for the whole of 2022 of the annual accounts, explains sales manager Michael Betzl.

Suspension of the December discount relieves consumers

It is precisely the suspension of the December discount for gas and local heating that relieves consumers.

"The customers of the public utility company don't have to worry about anything here, the advance payment is simply not debited for this purpose." Anyone who otherwise transfers the monthly payment can do without it in December.

If by mistake December deductions are received by the public utility, these would be offset “fairly and transparently” with the annual statement in February 2023.

As far as the announced energy price brake from spring 2023 is concerned, the municipal utilities are waiting for a decision by the Bundestag.

“As soon as final decisions are made in mid-December and the legally secure implementation has been clarified, customers will be informed accordingly,” it says.

For the future, Betzl promises: “For us as a municipal company, the well-being of the citizens comes first.

In their spirit, we will continue to calculate with a sharp pencil.”
