At the beginning of 2023, Hoerbiger will take over Johnson Matthey Piezo Products GmbH in Redwitz an der Rodach.

This will secure the growth of the Flow Control division.

Altenstadt – So-called piezo valves are built and tested fully automatically by the Hoerbiger company in Altenstadt.

These are used, for example, in respirators, in semiconductor production and in mechanical engineering and the process industry.

“Johnson Matthey Piezo Products GmbH” has been one of the most important suppliers for the company for over 30 years.

According to Hoerbiger in a press release, the "core of the piezo chip" is obtained from the specialist manufacturer of piezo ceramics.

From an initial start-up relationship, a success story has developed over the years, it is said.

At the beginning of 2023, Hoerbiger, which also has plants in Schongau and Penzberg, will now take over “Johnson Matthey Piezo Products GmbH” in Redwitz an der Rodach (Upper Franconia).

This is "an important step in securing our strong growth and being able to expand it further," says Wolfgang Sautter, CEO Compression Division at Hoerbiger.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.)

Plant in Redwitz an der Rodach is to be continued independently

In particular, the "Flow Control" market segment is on a growth course and is being supported in this way.

At the same time, the product portfolio is to be expanded with regard to “motion control solutions”.

"With the acquisition, we can now push new developments in our core technologies even more effectively and are excellently positioned for the future," says Sautter.

A sum, how expensive the takeover was, was not mentioned when asked by the home newspaper.

On a global level, however, Hoerbiger is always making acquisitions, according to press spokesman Reinhard Dorner.

He could not say whether more employees were expected at "Flow Control" in Altenstadt.

The growth is long-term.

The plant in Redwitz an der Rodach is to be continued independently.

Philipp Baldermann, managing director in Altenstadt and head of Flow Control, is looking forward to further cooperation.
