If there is an "after" of earthly life, if I believe in the Good News of the Resurrection, then it is obvious that this "after" of eternity and joy is more important than the before, obvious that I must take the time to prepare for it, especially in the last moments of my life.
Moreover, if God is indeed the Creator of heaven and earth, if it is He who created life, then we are not the owners of it, it is to Him and to Him alone that it belongs. .
For these two reasons, so-called “active” euthanasia, in other words, a truce with hypocrisy, assisted suicide, is from a Christian point of view one of the most serious faults that one can commit.
Of all the religions, it is undoubtedly the Catholic which has always been the most resolutely opposed to the legalization of euthanasia.
And she does so in the name of a theology which in her eyes is just as valid against abortion and which we will find strongly formulated in the paragraphs of the
Official Catechism of the Roman Church.
