STRASBOURG -
The European Parliament is launching "Generators of Hope", a campaign for the purchase of electricity generators to be sent to Ukraine to address the energy crisis caused by systematic attacks by Russian artillery on Ukrainian energy infrastructures.
The campaign will be presented at a press conference in Strasbourg at 13:00 by the President of the European Parliament,
Roberta Metsola, by the President of Eurocities and Mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella,
co-initiator of the campaign, and by Andriy Yermak, head of cabinet by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"
The European Parliament together with the Eurocities network will join efforts to raise funds to buy electric generators to be delivered to Ukraine to help the population fight the energy shortage due to the Russian attacks".
So the president of the Eurochamber, Roberta Metsola, during the press conference to present the project.
"Ten million Ukrainians are without electricity today and it is time to take action to help them", Metsola explained at the conference which was also attended by Dario Nardella, mayor of Florence, and by Andriy Yermak, Volodymyr Zelensky's cabinet chief.
"The electrical system is about to collapse. The pace of destruction exceeds the pace of construction, your help is vital"

This is the appeal that Andriy Yermak, head of President Volodymyr Zelensky's cabinet, launched via video link to the Eurochamber.
“We are about to face our toughest winter yet,” Yermak stressed.
