A radio journalist who also worked as a taxi driver was murdered in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz, his media group and the freedom of expression organization Article 19 announced on Tuesday (November 22nd).
Pedro Pablo Kumul, who worked as a "
reporter
" for regional media AX Multimedios on its AX Noticias and Es Amor radio stations, was murdered on Monday, the group claimed on social media.

According to public information, Pedro was run over by a vehicle and killed with a gun in the Casa Blanca neighborhood
", in Xalapa, the capital of Veracruz, the NGO said on Twitter.
The prosecutor's office and the local authorities have not yet published any press release relating to this murder.

The journalists' defense organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) told AFP that it was "
confirming information
" about the case.
As of November 16, the Mexican government had recorded 13 murders of journalists this year.
According to RSF, more than 150 journalists have been killed in Mexico since 2000. Most of these crimes go unpunished.
