In addition to the "Christmas markets" which are springing up there like mushrooms, it is the capital of "department stores", the equivalent of our department stores, which are all more or less in the west of the city, between Soho (Liberty London ), Mayfair (Fortnum & Mason) and South Hyde Park (Harrods).
As the holidays approach, their windows are as crowded as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace or Tower Bridge.
This year, Harrods wins the prize for the most spectacular Christmas window displays.
The former modest grocery store opened in 1849 by Charles Henry Harrods, which has become a luxury department store, has given carte blanche… to Dior!
A Franco-English meeting at the top which is frankly worth the detour.
