During the coalition negotiations, religious Zionism actually demanded control mechanisms on a number of issues that are important to them in light of renouncing the security, education and religious portfolios • The core of the dispute is the Likud's opposition to removing the Civil Administration from the Ministry of Defense at Smotrich's request, something that the Likud denied

The difficulties in establishing a right-wing government:

during the coalition negotiations, religious Zionism actually demanded mechanisms of control over a number of issues that are important to them in light of renouncing the portfolios of security, education and religions.

Smotrich, as mentioned at the beginning, demanded the same files, and in light of the refusal to accept them, he wants mechanisms to hold them in order to protect the interests of his constituents.

The agreements that the Likud refused to give to Smotrich, as Israel Hayom learned:

The crux of the dispute is that the Likud refused to give Smotrich powers over the dissolution of the Civil Administration on the issue of services for Jewish residents of Yosh and their integration into government ministries, and enforcement against the Palestinian Authority's efforts to take over the open territories. The Likud denied this.

denied.

At the same time, Likud refused to give Smotrich authority over the appointment of the State Religious Education Council and the head of the Hamad Council. Likud religions refused to give Smotrich the responsibility for the conversion system and head of the committee for appointing judges, and a mechanism to protect the interests of religious Zionism in the appointment of city rabbis and chief rabbis.

In addition, in religious Zionism they demand the Religious Services Committee, where all the legislation of the Ministry of Religion is passed so that they have a hold on this issue.

In the meantime, the CEO of Religious Zionism, Yehuda Weld, wrote on his Facebook page: "I will give you an example of a fundamental dispute that is currently plaguing us: we agreed with great difficulty to give up the security portfolio and accept the treasury with responsibility for the settlement.

This means transferring responsibility for the Civil Administration from the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Finance.

The goal is that we can strengthen Jewish settlement and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria and deal with the Palestinian takeover of the open territories.

"Netanyahu, who so far agreed with you and the Likud has even been briefing the media on this for two weeks, suddenly retracted and now refuses to pass it on to us on the grounds that such changes could damage relations with Biden.

This is a fundamental ideological disagreement that we must not give up. This was a promise by the entire right-wing bloc to the voters. Why don't we keep our promises?"
