The town of Ebersberg and its Christmas tree - it's not an easy relationship.
There has often been criticism of the appearance of the tree.
But what adorns Marienplatz this year looks like a “plucked chicken”.
Ebersberg
- On the first weekend in Advent, 26./27.
November, the popular Christmas market takes place in the district town of Ebersberg.
Stalls are set up around the Christmas tree where you can buy culinary and other delights.
When it gets dark, the candles burn on the tree, which this year has the advantage that its strange appearance doesn't come across as badly.

"What should it be"?
Like a Christmas tree?
Looks more like a plucked chicken,” said a visitor to the weekly market that was taking place on Wednesday, November 23, when he had inspected the good piece more closely – with all the crooked branches sticking out in all directions.
The spruce in front of the town hall comes from the Ebersberg forest, as a query showed.

It has probably survived many a storm there - as disheveled as the tree presents itself.
In the meantime, the people of Ebersberg can see what a stately Christmas tree should look like in the neighboring town of Grafing, where such a specimen stands: uniform growth, dense dress - a splendor.
"We had to buy the tree.
Unfortunately there was no tree donation.
But it is particularly beautiful this year,” says Mayor Christian Bauer happily.
