Syria and Belarus signed today six agreements and memorandums of understanding in the fields of trade exchange, education, housing, transport, industry and customs, at the end of the expanded official talks held by the Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.

In a press statement following the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding, Eng. Arnous explained that the Republic of Belarus is a friendly country with which we have close and historical relations based on mutual respect, values, morals, and keenness on joint action, adding: The relations of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries are witnessing increasing growth, and that the current challenges require more. Of joint coordination and cooperation for the benefit of the two friendly peoples in their endeavor to achieve stability and peace and provide the requirements of sustainable development in all fields.

Eng. Arnous pointed out that a round of in-depth discussions was held that included all aspects of existing cooperation and an evaluation of the results of previous coordination. Headlines and a future action plan were also set that included a deliberate and objective expansion of joint cooperation activities, and joint keenness to move cooperation relations towards new horizons driven by capabilities was emphasized. Engineer Arnous explained that a number of cooperation formulas were signed in the areas of trade exchange, education, housing, transport, industry, customs and other vital sectors that increase the networking of the economies of the two countries, indicating that the discussions dealt with strengthening cooperation in the social, cultural and scientific development sector with the aim of benefiting from human capital. Golovchenko added: The cooperation agreement between the two countries provides new horizons for consolidating relations, and all areas of cooperation were discussed, especially in the field of providing Belarusian agricultural and industrial materials to Syria, and we reached a general agreement that helps us overcome all difficulties, stressing that Belarus has a plan to receive a number of Syrian children. Next year within its vision of humanitarian work in Syria and the development of social relations, and that it will continue to support Syria in all that is necessary.
