Raqqa - Sana
The Directorate of Culture in Raqqa organized, within the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days, the Abd al-Salam al-Ajili Forum for Novel Creativity, a course for the late writer Abdullah Abu Haif, entitled The Syrian Arab Novel in Mirrors of Criticism, in the city of Sabkha.
The forum, which lasts for two days, includes critical sessions, plastic art exhibitions, photography, a book exhibition, a number exhibition, and a heritage art show that represents the intangible heritage of Raqqa Governorate. A group of intellectuals, writers, researchers, and critics participate in the forum.
The governor of Raqqa, Abdul Razzaq Khalifa, stressed the importance of the forum, which is the product of a cultural and intellectual heritage, considering culture as a fortress for peoples, and that it is the civilized response to the attempt to distort history, the present and the future.
The Director of Raqqa Culture, Muhammad al-Ahmad al-Abdun, stated that this year's forum celebrates the late writer Abdullah Abu Haif, and it is an annual tradition aimed at emphasizing that Syria will remain the incubator of culture, thought and literature, and that culture is the supreme need of humanity.
The first day included dialogue sessions with different titles and topics, including a session (Novel and Politics) by Dr. Khalaf Al-Muftah, (The Novel Incubates Plurality and Difference) by Dr. Atef Boutros, (Social Criticism of Abdullah Abu Heif) presented by Dr. Batool Draw, and (Aesthetic Look at Maqamat al-Ajili) presented by Dr. Sandra Afash.
