Residents of Dalit al-Karmel demonstrate for the return of Tiran's body (Walla system!)
Frustration is growing in the Druze community in view of the passing of hours since the body of Tiran Pero, who was supposed to celebrate his 18th birthday tomorrow, was kidnapped.
A demonstration of sympathy with the family marched in his village this evening (Wednesday) calling for the release of the body for burial.
In the early evening, the head of the council, Rafik Halabi, reported in a message to the residents that talks had already been held with all the parties, including the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense and the President of the State.
Many contacts were held behind the scenes, also with the help of the leaders of the Arab society in Israel who joined the efforts to bring the body back.
So did the chairman of the monitoring committee of the Arab public in Israel, Muhammad Bracha, so did MK Ahmed Tibi, who worked with officials in the Palestinian Authority and reported to the head of the council during the day.
Everything in the meantime was a mess.
Halavi in his speech measured the patience that still remains - in hours.
Immediately after, a protest rally was held at the entrance of the local council building, a large van and a suitcase decorated with the flags of the Druze community was placed there, and on its windshield was the picture of the late Tiran, meaning that we are ready to go out and bring him ourselves.
The rally turned into a procession and hundreds of them including many clerics in traditional clothing, men and women, as well as soldiers and officers in uniform went out to the main street of the village carrying flags and signs and the picture of the deceased and chanting "We are Druze, we are not afraid to die".
And "with spirit and blood we redeemed Tiran".
This is the second demonstration for today, this one is already much more powerful, the voices are louder and the ultimatum is more pointed.
They passed the central square, over which his image had already been projected on the large electronic sign since noon, and continued towards the Abu Ibrahim People's House in the center of the village, a sacred place for the community.
There they stopped for a minute of silence in memory of the late Tiran and then resumed marching while calling for action.
"The fear is that as the hours tick by and there is no response to the natural demands of the family and the village and the community to bring the son to eternal rest in the land he grew up on, this whole thing will get out of control. There are two hundred Palestinians who work here every day in construction and agriculture, I don't see how this can continue to happen," said Lavala educator.
"There are young people here who are ready to go to the Jalma checkpoint at any moment. I don't know what will happen if they cross there and I don't want to think about what will happen if they try to stop them," said one of the villagers.
He estimated that if the matter is not resolved tonight, tomorrow all the residents of the Druze villages will join the protest.
"If they go out there, there will be more deaths, and how will we stop this fire then. Let's hope we don't get to that," said another, "Meanwhile, the young people are still giving it time to be resolved, but we are on borrowed time. I really hope all parties understand this. The anger is clear , this is a child, not a soldier or a fighter, just a child who came to buy something for a car. He is already dead. In an accident. Every human being can understand that such a body is not trafficked and is not kept from the parents."
The procession eventually returned to the square of the local council, but the participants refused to disperse and for a long time they still gathered in the place, where some of them were already calling to go in the direction of road six, and from there to the Jalma crossing.
In Ada, this is the only issue that concerns the public, the World Cup is forgotten.
The leaders of the community are afraid of what will happen tomorrow, if the body is not inhabited tonight, one way or another.
