The 43-year-old person in charge of a gambling stall surnamed Wu was suspected of "operating a gambling establishment" and violating the "Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulations" (Cap. Instructions from the Director General".

In addition, 1 male and 4 female gamblers aged between 34 and 60 were arrested on suspicion of "gambling in gambling establishments". Regulations (Cap. 599F), the officer then issued a fixed penalty notice to them.

Two of the arrested persons were found to be wanted and all the arrested persons are being detained for investigation.

The police reiterated that according to the "Gambling Ordinance" Chapter 148 of the Laws of Hong Kong, operating a gambling establishment and gambling in a gambling establishment are serious crimes.
