The crime happened on Tuesday night: Unknown persons cut fiber optic cables in the district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm.

In the case of the destroyed fiber optic cable in Manching, a spectacular turnaround happened on Tuesday evening.

Police have linked the incident to a burglary at the nearby Celtic Roman Museum, where a total of 451 Celtic gold coins were stolen.

The value of the stolen goods is said to be several million euros.

When the museum was broken into by unknown perpetrators, the alarm system did not go off.

The police therefore see a connection to the severed fiber optic cables.
