Windhorst finds buyers for shares in Hertha

Entrepreneur Lars Windhorst has found a buyer for his shares in Bundesliga soccer club Hertha BSC.

“We found what we were looking for.

We are positively surprised that it happened so quickly," said the 46-year-old at the economic summit of the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" in Berlin on Wednesday.

Berlin – Windhorst joined the Berlin club with his company Tennor in 2019 and over time acquired 67 percent of the outsourced professional department for 374 million euros.

After numerous arguments, he declared in early October that he would end his investment in Hertha and sell his shares.

Windhorst did not want to name the buyer yet, but announced that information would be forthcoming.

"We are very satisfied with the result," said the entrepreneur one day after his 46th birthday.

Windhorst attributed the quick solution to his "good network, which I have been intensively cultivating for 30 years".

Hertha has a right of first refusal on the shares, but due to the economic situation, a buyback should not be an option.
