Ohlstadt - It was shortly before 10 p.m. on Wednesday evening when the alarm sirens of the fire brigade wailed in Ohlstadt in Upper Bavaria.
Four fire brigades with around 140 emergency services moved out to Heubergstraße.
The glow of the fire could be seen for miles.
When the emergency services arrived, the Fischbach cellos warehouse was fully engulfed in flames.
Hell of flames broke out where normally the finest stringed instruments are lovingly made by hand.
The best tonewoods for stringed instruments were stored in the warehouse, they could no longer be saved.
The strong wind kept fueling the flames.
The adjoining residential buildings and the production hall could just about be saved.
The flames were about to leap over.
For the Ohlstadt, Eschenlohe, Murnau and Großweil fire brigades, the priority was to secure the other houses.
The firefighting was started under heavy respiratory protection.
Ultimately, two halls burned down completely.
The damage cannot be quantified at this time.
The police has started investigation.
An excavator tore down the camp and spread the fire on the adjacent pasture, where it was extinguished by the fire brigade.
Already in 2007 there was a fire in the cello factory.
