The Royal Palace of Malaysia announced the appointment of Anwar Ibrahim as the new Prime Minister.
The royal palace said in a statement carried by Reuters: Anwar will be sworn in this evening.
And the general elections that took place last Saturday resulted in an unprecedented hung parliament, as neither of the two main coalitions, one led by Anwar, while the other is led by former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, won.
It is noteworthy that Anwar previously held the position of Deputy Prime Minister in the nineties.
