The Armenian Ministry of Defense announced that an Armenian soldier was injured as a result of shelling on the border with Azerbaijan.
The ministry said in a statement today: “On November 23, a soldier was wounded in a combat position, located in the eastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, as a result of shelling by the Azerbaijani forces.”
Skirmishes take place periodically on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as the two countries exchange accusations of bombing the border areas.
On November 9, 2020, Armenia and Azerbaijan, under the auspices of Russia, reached a ceasefire agreement, which ended a conflict between Baku and Yerevan in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, which lasted about a month and a half.
The two countries later agreed to form a committee to demarcate the borders and define security standards.
