A fight between drivers in East Jerusalem escalated into an attack with a hookah (Jerusalem District Police Prosecution Unit)
An indictment was filed yesterday (Wednesday) against Rafat Abu Gamaa, a 26-year-old resident of Ein Nakoba, who attacked a car driver on a road in East Jerusalem with a hookah pole.
The indictment states that Abu Gamaa attacked the driver along with another person after the driver asked to pass with his vehicle on the road.
The incident happened at the beginning of the month, when the driver who was attacked and two others, all residents of East Jerusalem, were driving in the A-Tor neighborhood, and encountered a roadblock in the road on El Hardov Street due to a stuck vehicle.
One of the passengers got out of the vehicle and tried to stop the oncoming traffic so that they could bypass the obstruction and continue driving.
The accused's relative, who arrived there in his car, refused to comply with the request, and demanded that the three clear the road.
He then got out of the vehicle and started hitting the driver, and a confrontation developed between the two when the other two passengers in the vehicle tried to separate them.
A short time later, the accused arrived at the scene running, and joined the fight.
He hit the driver in the face, then went with his relative to a nearby hookah shop and got a metal hookah rod.
His relative took in his hand a pitcher of hookah.
When the two approached the driver who wanted to bypass the blockade, they began to hit him on the head, resulting in a significant cut and abrasions on his head and forehead.
