The Directorate of Fine Arts celebrated the days of Syrian culture in its unique style through the retrospective exhibition, which it held in cooperation with the Syrian Plastic Artists Union, for the most important Syrian plastic artists, from the pioneers to the new generation, through the professionals, to bear the title (Syrian Plastic Art... Memory and Present).
The exhibition included 28 oil paintings from the possessions of the Directorate of Fine Arts at the Ministry of Culture, with a variety of styles, techniques and themes from the paintings, which were dominated by the classic character.
During the opening of the exhibition, the Assistant Minister of Culture, Eng. Sanaa Shawa, explained that the exhibition is an extension of an integrated program of the Ministry of Culture in the field of fine art to celebrate the days of Syrian culture with a restoration exhibition for departed and living creative Syrian artists. Syrian.
The Director of the Directorate of Fine Arts, Wassim Abdel Hamid, pointed out the importance of retrospective exhibitions that present some of the artistic treasures to the public, especially the graduates of the Faculty of Fine Arts, to confirm their visual stock with this artistic heritage, stressing that this exhibition is part of a series of plans developed by the Directorate to display the memory and present of Syrian plastic art.
The President of the Union, Muhammad Irfan Abu Al-Shamat, considered that the exhibition is an opportunity to restore the memory of Syrian plastic art, and to get acquainted closely with the creations of its artists who have left life, and it is an opportunity for contemporary Syrian plastic artists to benefit from the experience of those who preceded them.
