The “Last Generation” has carried out several climate protests in recent weeks.

Now two activists stuck in the Elbphilharmonie.

Hamburg - Climate activists of the "last generation" caused a stir on Wednesday evening (November 23) in Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie.

Shortly before the start of a concert, they glued themselves to a conductor's desk.

In a video that the group shared on Twitter, a woman and a man can be seen, each wearing a safety vest, standing at the lectern on stage and speaking to the audience.

Climate activists are stuck in the Elbphilharmonie: the audience is not enthusiastic

In their speech, the activists in Hamburg called for resistance to what they saw as the government's undecided climate policy.

However, the action did not necessarily meet with enthusiasm from the audience, who were expecting the performance of a Beethoven concerto.

In the video of the "Last Generations" both a murmur and the shouts "Oh, no" and "Out" can be heard.

A spokesman for the Elbphilharmonie confirmed the disruptive action of the protesters on Thursday.

Two climate activists climbed onto the stage, glued themselves to the railings of the conductor's desk and read out a statement.

The concert started six minutes late after the activists left the stage, the spokesman said.

Climate activists are stuck in the Elbphilharmonie: speaker “understands the concerns” of the activists

“Of course we want our audience to have a trouble-free concert experience.

But we also understand the concern for our natural livelihoods peacefully expressed by the young protesters,” the spokesman continued.

The police said the two climate activists were released from the railings after a short time and taken into custody.

Once again, the "Last Generation" movement was responsible for the protest action.

In her speech, one activist said: "Just like there is only one Beethoven violin concerto, we only have this one planet whose boundaries we so disregard that climate-related disasters are becoming more frequent and deadly".

And: "There will be no more Elbphilharmonie to enjoy Beethoven when Hamburg is under water."

"Last generation": climate activists with numerous actions

In order to protest against the climate policy, the "last generation" has recently carried out more actions.

In Vienna, activists poured oil on a work of art by Gustav Klimt.

In the Barberini Museum in Potsdam, a man and a woman threw mashed potatoes at Claude Monet's painting "Stacks of Grain" (1890), which was protected by a glass pane.

A raid on climate adhesives of the "last generation" took place in Leipzig on Thursday.

The case of climate activists, who caused a traffic jam on a Berlin autobahn with a road blockade, caused a particularly great deal of excitement.

As a result, an emergency vehicle came late to the scene of the accident, where a cement mixer rolled over a cyclist – the woman died.

According to a report by the fire brigade, the blockade by the climate activists had an impact on the rescue operation.
