It doesn't get more glitz and stardust than this - the house where movie star Marilyn Monroe once lived is for sale.

This is a town house that is located under the Hollywood sign and is full of big screen history.

The house is inside the Chateau Beachwood complex, which was built on the initiative of Warner Bros. Studios specifically to house their big stars.

According to the reports, Monroe was not the only star who lived here, and before that screen legends such as Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich lived in the house.

The property is a kind of small cottage with two bedrooms.

It was built in 1937 as part of a complex of 10 houses, and the characteristic style of its construction is the French Norman style.

Inside the house there is a strong influence of the Mid-Century Modern style with accents of Hollywood glam and lots of pastel colors typical of mid-20th century Californian design.

"This house is all soaked in fairy dust," Marlena Madoff, the real estate agent who owns it exclusively, told the New York Post. One of the two bathrooms is equipped with a shower and original tiles in purple and yellow colors, while in the other bathroom you will find a hairdressing sink in perfect powder pink.

The house also has an attached covered garage with a darkroom for developing film images.

In the years that have passed since Monroe, Dietrich and the other idols of the golden screen lived here, newer stars such as Madonna, Sean Penn, John Cusack and Ann Hayes also lived in the neighborhood.

The house is also near another historical site - a pair of stone gates that since 1923 are considered the official entrance gate to Hollywood.

And the price?

The house was offered for sale for $899,000 (which is less than NIS 3.15 million).

It is not clear whether thanks to the attractive price or the shiny attribution, but the offers did not take long to come and it seems that soon it will already be stolen from the market.
