Goslar - Meyer welcomed the participants of the conference in Goslar on Thursday.
In the afternoon, a visit to the Imperial Palace building, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was planned.
In terms of content, topics such as accelerating the energy transition, financing issues in climate and environmental protection, biodiversity in urban areas and how to deal with wolves are also on the agenda for the politicians.
The Lower Saxony farmers' association announced a protest action with a human chain in downtown Goslar for Friday.
The association calls for an objective exchange on the topics of reducing pesticides, rewetting the moors and using fertilizers.
The German Farmers' Association called for cooperation with farmers and a sense of proportion in environmental protection measures.
