Resist the pressure Hungary exerts
by blocking crucial EU decisions, such as the one on the 18 billion euro aid package for Ukraine and the agreement on the global minimum tax: this is the EP's request to the EU Commission and Council contained in a resolution adopted with 416 votes in favour, 124 against and 33 abstentions.
This
"abuse" of the unanimity rule
, reads the text, should "have no impact" on decisions regarding Hungary's recovery plan and the rule of law conditionality mechanism.
The
delegations of the Brothers of Italy and the League voted against
the resolution of the Eurochamber.
The Fdi MEPs voted solidly 'no' while in the Lega delegation, as can be seen from the printouts, Cinzia Bonfrisco voted in favour, Gianna Gancia abstained and the others voted against.
The Fi delegation, with the exception of Massimiliano Salini (abstained), instead voted in favor of the resolution.
