For many winter fans, a skiing holiday in the cold season is simply part of it.

But which ski areas in Europe are still comparatively cheap?

Can I even afford a ski holiday this year?

This is a question that many Germans are asking themselves in light of the energy crisis and the increased prices for ski passes.

Some ski areas charge around ten percent more than before - some even up to 20 percent.

If you still don't want to miss out on having fun on the slopes, you should therefore compare the prices carefully.

The five most popular ski resorts in Europe

Winter sports enthusiasts are venturing further afield more often this year, as the holiday home

booking portal HomeToGo

has observed.

The relaxed corona measures apparently ensure that travelers find out about offers beyond national borders.

Among the most searched ski resorts are:

  • Zillertal, Austria (ski pass price: 65 euros)

  • Livigno, Italy (59 euros)

  • Flachau, Austria (61 euros)

  • Oberstdorf, Germany (57.50 euros)

  • Ischgl, Austria (67 euros)

  • There are still particularly cheap ski holidays in some ski areas in France.
