Oops, even Greens councilor Gerhard Waas can get something out of the new plans for the Forsthaus Valepp.

The variant, which has been slimmed down again, has now received the unanimous blessing of the Schliersee building committee.

Schliersee – Johannes Rabl has come a long way since he applied with national soccer goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to take over the Forsthaus Valepp.

Now he has reached another milestone.

His plans went through the building committee without a dissenting vote.

After the agreement with the nature conservation associations - the main point: no winter operation - he had changed it again.

He no longer needs an efficient heating system, and he does not have his own staff room.

"It hurts a bit, but we have to cut corners somewhere," said Rabl in the building committee.

The initial situation: Five months less operation at the same costs.

The latter were estimated at four million euros a year ago and are likely to have changed in line with general developments in the construction industry.

New solution: Like a threshing floor, a ramp should lead to the multi-purpose room in the new service building (left).

It replaces the staff apartments previously planned on the upper floor.

The most obvious innovation: ramp to the upper floor of the farm building

Because there are no staff rooms - if necessary, employees are to move into one of the 28 planned guest rooms - space on the upper floor of the new service building (approximately 10 by 17 meters unchanged) will be free.

There Rabl and Neuer want to set up the multi-purpose room that was previously planned for the dilapidated garage a little further north.

After a corresponding renovation, the latter will only serve as a storage and bicycle parking space.

A ramp, like a threshing floor, is to lead to the multi-purpose room, in which smaller groups can celebrate, for example – the most obvious innovation.

What is also missing is a sauna in the rear extension to the forester's lodge itself. An office and a small lounge for overnight guests are now planned there.

Whereby Rabl emphasized again,

that nothing more is planned for the Forsthaus in terms of hospitality than “daily gastronomy until sunset, at most until 8 p.m.”.

The goal of reducing traffic, especially on the toll road from Rottach-Egern, also remains unchanged.

Rabl and Neuer cannot do this alone.

Talks are being held with the authorities involved, such as municipalities and the district office.

"We want to create something great there," assures Rabl.

Jagerhäusl and Klausenhaus will be self-catering huts in the future - even in winter

So far, there has hardly been any talk of two other buildings that also belong to the long-term lease: the Jagerhäusl and the Klausenhaus, which are located a good 100 meters north and south of the forester's house.

Rabl would like to operate both as classic self-catering huts, mind you also in winter.

Each building could accommodate around eight people.

There are enough examples of huts used in this way between Spitzingsee and Valepp.

However, the investor duo will have to open their wallets especially for the Klausenhaus.

"The Klausenhaus is an enormously important monument," says Rabl.

It was built in 1683, about 160 years before the forester's lodge.

Regarding a renovation - not a project for the near future - he is in coordination with the monument protection.

Rabl wants to “really get started now”

With the plans that have now been presented, Rabl said in the committee, “we really want to get started now”.

The biggest obstacles seem to have been cleared.

However, not much will happen before winter.

If the weather permits, the toilet building next to the forester's lodge will be demolished, but the forester's lodge roof will be sealed (temporarily) in any case so that no further damage occurs.

But it will probably be 2025 before the first beer flows out of the tap in Valepp.

The building committee only had questions about the second escape route at the back of the farm building.

And the fact that Gerhard Waas, the most critical member of the construction committee to date, finally agreed is a “great success” for Rabl, in which he also put “a lot of work”.
