After a few rainy days in November, the weather finally resets itself and synchronizes with the chronological season.

Just before it starts to get really cold here, it's just the time to prepare your air conditioner for winter use.

What should be done before turning on the air conditioner on heating mode for the first time?

At what temperature is it recommended to set the air conditioner and how can you save electricity?

We turned to an expert to answer all these questions.

"The first thing to do is

switch the air conditioner to heating mode

by pressing the Mode button until you see a sign of sun on the display," explains Nati Maktam, director of engineering at Electra Air Conditioning.

"Adjust the temperature to 30 degrees, the fan speed to high power and adjust the air outlet shutter down."

The air conditioner runs and then stops - is that okay?

"Normal heating operation of a normal air conditioner (not with INVERTER technology) is intermittent. When it is switched on, the air conditioner heats the room until the thermostat reaches the desired temperature and then stops the air conditioner. After a certain period of time, when the thermostat senses a drop in temperature, the air conditioning operation resumes and God forbid," Maktam explains.

Aim the shutter of the air conditioner downwards, at an angle of 45 degrees.

Therefore, if you have such an option on the remote, it recommends that

you activate the i feel feature

after you have made sure that the air conditioner is operating in heating mode.

All you have to do is place the remote control in eye contact with the indoor unit and press the i feel button on the remote control.

This action will transfer the temperature sensation from the air conditioner unit (evaporator) to the remote control and significantly improve the heating operation of the desired area.

In heating mode, the air conditioner's air outlet shutter must be directed 45 degrees downwards,

because the hot air emitted by the air conditioner rises up, for air circulation and more efficient air conditioning of the room.

In order to save electricity, during prolonged operation it is recommended

to set the temperature of the air conditioner to 23-25 degrees

.

When the temperature outside is extremely cold, the air conditioner performs an automatic defrosting operation, this is a normal operation of the air conditioner.

Do not perform any operation on the remote during this time, the air conditioner will defrost for about ten minutes and then continue to operate normally.

In central mini units, if the green light flashes when the temperatures are not extreme, check that the outdoor unit is not blocked.

If the outdoor unit is clean, contact the customer service of the company from which the air conditioner was purchased.

Also,

it is recommended to invite a qualified technician once every 5 years

to check the electrical connections of the air conditioner.

Over time, the electrical conductors connected with clamps to the air conditioner may loosen or dry out, which may cause a high current, burning conductors and even burning the air conditioner.
