Various heritage and artistic activities took place in a number of cultural centers in As-Suwayda Governorate this evening, as part of the activities of the Syrian Culture Days.

The Palace of Culture in the city of As-Suwayda hosted an evening of popular poetry as part of the activities of the second day of the eighth intangible folklore festival organized by the Directorate of Culture.

Poets Muzaffar Al-Sahnawi, Nadim Al-Hussein, Ayman Shalghin, and Rababa poet Yahya Al-Kuntar revived a poetic and heritage evening within the festival’s activities at the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Shahba, which reflected in its various themes the aesthetic of the popular heritage.

In the cultural center in the town of Al-Qurayya, the head of the Al-Adyat Association branch, researcher Muhammad Tarabay, spoke during a lecture he gave as part of the festival’s activities about folklore between originality and innovation and the beauty of some customs and traditions as the most prominent elements of heritage at a time when some of them underwent development, and did not remain as they were in the past, in line with the circumstances life.

The Sheraa band, led by the artist Basman Harb, performed a concert organized by the National Theater in As-Suwayda on the stage of the city's Palace of Culture, which included oriental music pieces and various tarabic songs.
