In a statement to SANA, the Assistant Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Damiriyeh, pointed out that the topics discussed contribute to putting forward proposals to amend and develop the Law of Practicing Medical Professions in a manner that parallels developments in medical technology in terms of pharmacological and surgical treatment, and reaching a legal formulation that regulates developments in the medical fields.
The Assistant Minister of Justice, Judge Tayseer Al-Smadi, stressed the need for coordination between the judicial and medical authorities and a number of concerned ministries, to study medical error claims appropriately and to set clear and separating definitions and terminology for the disputed topics that explain the mechanism of medical work accurately and support the laws related to this field.
Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, Director of the Research Center for Biological Treatments at the University of Damascus, pointed out the importance of discussing medical and legal responsibility continuously with the concerned authorities, especially controversial issues in which opinions differ between medical necessities and governing laws to ensure the improvement of the practice of the profession and keeping pace with the development of research and the therapeutic needs of patients and everything related to their safety. and their rights.
