Jetzendorf's Mayor Manfred Betzin thanked volunteers for their commitment to refugees.

Jetzendorf – The municipality of Jetzendorf showed particular commitment to the war refugees from the Ukraine and held a German course in the old town hall that lasted 23 evenings.

Thanks to the Neighborhood Aid in Jetzendorf, Anna Ostermair from the Habertshausen part of the community, who speaks Russian, was hired as the course leader.

Kristina Dhom from the neighborhood help established contact with Ostermair.

On the last of the 23 evenings, Mayor Manfred Betzin gave flowers to Ostermair and Dhom as a thank you for their commitment.

Deputy Mayor Leonhard Sedlmeier, who took care of the refugees in a special way, gave a short speech.

He emphasized that it was not easy for the congregation to take care of the average number of 18 course participants and also a few men from Ukraine.

"It made sense to bring the former chamberlain of the community of Jetzendorf, Alois Kobold, out of retirement to help look after the refugees." You are now facing the second step, an integration course, which also takes place at the old town hall to be held.

Both Betzin and Sedlmeier assured the refugees: "We will continue to support you." Neighborhood help will not leave the people from Ukraine out in the rain either.

It is advantageous that Caritas is also available for consultations in the old town hall.

"All the best, whether with us or in your home country," wished Betzin.

As Sedlmeier learned, apartments for the refugees are urgently needed in the community area and beyond.

Landlords are welcome to contact Sedlmeier or the municipal administration.

An older man from among the refugees thanked the course participants for the warm welcome in Jetzendorf and all the other refugees acknowledged these words with applause.
