Against the relocation of the Marienbrunnen decided by the city council: (from left) Helmut Forster, Richard Kugler (city councilors of the WOR list), Hermann Paetzmann (member of the WOR list), Erich Brockard from Wolfratshausen and Dr.

Manfred Fleischer (City Councilor of the WOR list).

The flyer of the association "Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen" has the opponents of the fountain shift.

You speak of "dubious" information for citizens.

Wolfratshausen – The cause of Marienbrunnen has occupied the citizens of Loisachstadt for months.

Now, on Sunday, December 11, the people of Wolfratshausen will finally decide on the procedure in two parallel referendums.

The three city councilors of the Wolfratshauser list initiated referendum 1 (against the postponement of the well) and the city council opposed referendum 2 (pro-fountain postponement).

The arguments fly back and forth - in a press conference on Wednesday in the Löwenbräu inn, the opponents of the project criticized the association Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen (LAW).

Marienbrunnen transfer: Complainants complain about "unfair means"

As reported, the association advertises with flyers for the relocation of the fountain in the direction of Marktstraße.

Manfred Fleischer (Wolfratshauser Liste) accuses the LAW, headed by Ernst Gröbmair, of “one-sided, incorrect and dubious information for citizens”.

That is far from a "fair and open culture of discussion about the historical image of the old town".

Fleischer underlined the letter to the editor from ex-CSU city councilor Peter Plößl, which was published in our newspaper on Tuesday.

According to Plößl, the ballot paper shown in the LAW flyer was significantly shortened.

"So if opinions are formed here by omissions, that has a manipulative character for me." Fleischer agreed with his former party friend.

The LAW use "unfair and unfair means".

Postponement advocates are 'afraid of losing face'

There is another aspect that Fleischer does not understand.

“It is said that the fountain belongs more in the center.

Well, it doesn't get any more central than it is now.

The fountain stands in the heart of the old town.

Even more central would mean in front of Mayor Heilinglechner’s desk.” The city council’s vehement defense of the 15:5 decision to move the fountain to the east as part of the upgrading of the old town was more due to “fear of losing face” than out of necessity, surmised Butcher.

No company wants to do it - initiative feels tailwind

For his parliamentary colleague Richard Kugler, the fact that no specialist company has yet been found who would like to move the well is another reason to oppose the project.

As reported, the opponents simulated the displacement of the fountain with a wooden slat model at Marienplatz last Saturday.

According to Kugler, the reactions of passers-by were clearly unusual: "Actually, everyone we spoke to agreed to leave the fountain where it is."

High costs for postponement - inappropriate for Helmut Forster at the moment

Former mayor Helmut Forster (Wolfratshauser List) is convinced that there will be a clear majority for referendum 1.

On Wednesday, he referred to the more than 2,500 Wolfratshausers who had signed the application for the citizens' initiative "Protection of the historic old town".

Forster, the city council's economics officer, again warned against the "waste of tax money".

He expects the well relocation to cost around 200,000 euros.

"Now is not the time to spend so much money on a 'nice-to-have' project."
