Negligent homicide on the Denklinger construction site?

Denklingen – The Augsburg public prosecutor’s office has brought charges against the two managing directors of the Denklingen construction company on whose construction site four men died in a tragic construction site accident in October 2020.

The accusation: negligent homicide. 

The public prosecutor's office accuses the two suspects of having their employees erect an unstable supporting structure when two buildings were constructed.

The press officer of the Landsberg district court, Sabine Grub, informed about this last week.

The district's judicial authority is now dealing with the case.

Due to the unstable shoring, the concrete ceiling between the two houses collapsed;

four employees of the company were buried by the concrete masses.

According to the press release from the district court, the two suspects did not check the support structure.

The indictment has already been served.

The two managing directors of the company - father and son - can comment within two weeks.

After the deadline, the responsible criminal judge will decide whether to admit the charges and whether to open the main proceedings.

The tragic construction site accident happened two years ago on a rainy Friday in October.

The construction site was in the Denklinger commercial area directly on Epfacher Straße.

The four fatalities were 16 years old (trainee), 34 years old and two times 37 years old.

They came from Denklingen, Fuchstal and Thaining.

Three workers died because they were crushed by the liquid concrete and the debris from the formwork.

A construction worker was found dead by asphyxiation during an autopsy.
