The new games in the iconic series are experiencing a particularly successful launch, but in the background the cries of the players who complain about bugs and technical glitches are still heard

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet (Nintendo)

The Nintendo company released a sensational statement: the new Pokemon games, Scarlet/Violet broke records and sold more than ten million copies worldwide, in just three days since their launch last week (18.11).

Nintendo stated that this is the most successful launch for the brand, the Switch console and for Nintendo itself.

The new games also managed to break Nintendo's previous records with games like Animal Crossing, or most recently, Splatoon 3. This is definitely a huge sales achievement for Nintendo.

Just for comparison, Sony's new exclusive title, God of War Ragnarok sold more than 5.1 million copies in the first week of launch, and is already considered the most successful exclusive launch on PlayStation.

It managed to overtake every other Sony exclusive, such as The Last of Us Part II, Spider-Man, Uncharted 4, and even its predecessor in the series - God of War (2018).

On the other hand, the title Call of Duty Modern Warfare II also experienced success and it raked in over a billion dollars in sales (physical copies, digital copies, and in-game purchases) in only ten days.

But even so, it seems that Sony's God of War and Activision's action titles have not been able to defeat Nintendo's pocket creatures.

Very impressive, but...

Despite this impressive achievement, it is very difficult to ignore the criticisms that appear online about the new games, which experience bugs, performance difficulties and technical faults at a level that is very reminiscent of games like Cyberpunk 2077, and it is likely that they could have enjoyed a few more good months in development.

These games were able to prove that the Pokemon Company and Game Freak should consider their steps in the future, and take care of renovation and polishing stages for the games in the future.

This is one of the biggest gaming brands that exist (and we see it reflected in sales. And we haven't even talked about profits from merchandising) and there is no reason for a game of this magnitude to be released in such a precarious state.

We are currently working on the review of the game, and although we have experienced quite a few bugs and glitches, it is hard to ignore the fact that underneath all the fuss - there is a fun and enjoyable game.

But we will expand on that in the full review.
