The People's Assembly discussed, in its session held today, chaired by Hamouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Council, a number of service and living issues, while the Minister of State for People's Assembly Affairs, Abdullah Abdullah, made a presentation on a summary of the issues and decisions that he discussed, and that the Council of Ministers took in its previous session.
A number of council members called, in their interventions, for the need to tighten control over the distribution of fuel by gas stations, to raise the amount of diesel allocated for heating to 100 liters, to settle bread in each governorate separately to prevent trading in it between governorates, and to open the door for importing basic materials, wondering about Reasons for varying time periods for obtaining subsidized materials, as well as electrical rationing hours from one region to another.
The members pointed out the importance of improving the standard of living, increasing the level of salaries and wages, and strengthening procedures by the Central Bank of Syria to support the Syrian pound, and ending speculation on it. Raqqa and Deir Ezzor.
In his response to the interventions, Minister Abdullah Abdullah explained that the delay in the arrival of fuel tankers is what hinders the distribution process, while there are circulars by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers emphasizing the need to achieve justice in rationing electricity hours, indicating that any citizen can apply To import any material that is allowed to be imported according to the regulations in force.
For his part, the Speaker of the Council indicated the need to provide the Council as quickly as possible with answers to questions and interventions made by members of the Council on urgent and necessary issues for citizens, indicating at the same time the importance of informing members of the People's Assembly about any government activity or ministerial committees visiting the governorates so that they can participate and help in resolving Topics raised each in his province.
The Council also approved, by majority, the formation of a joint committee of the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs and Financial Laws Committees to discuss two draft laws (amending some articles of Law No. 24 of 2003 and its amendments on income tax), and (amending Legislative Decree No. 11 of 2015 and its amendments on consumer spending) to study them. subjects, and prepare the necessary reports on them.
The session was adjourned to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4.
