The Syrian Railways Corporation ran train trips to transport passengers between Tartous and Latakia back and forth, in order to alleviate transportation difficulties between the two governorates.
And according to the Ministry of Transport’s page on the Telegram, the Director General of the Public Corporation for Railways, Dr. Mudhar Al-Araj, explained that the number of passengers transported by trains between the two governorates reached 332,197 passengers from the beginning of this year to date, pointing out that the Corporation is making every effort to maintain the movement of trains and provide services to citizens in under current circumstances.
Al-Araj indicated that the Corporation continues its work, despite the difficulties and problems it is experiencing due to the consequences of the war and the unjust economic sanctions, which prevent it from securing the reconstruction requirements for its locomotives, vehicles and infrastructure, including materials, equipment, supplies and spare parts.
