Defendants Liu Yuzhao (55 years old, delivery man) and Zeng Ziliang (55 years old, owner of a logistics company) admitted to participating in an illegal assembly near the junction of Argyle Street near Portland Street on June 4, 2020; He was charged with one count of resisting a police officer in the performance of his duties, which was filed in court.

500 people gathered around Langham Place that day

According to the facts of the case, about 500 people gathered at Langham Place and Argyle Street at 6:00 p.m. on the night of the incident.

Most of the people held white candles and turned on the flashlights of their mobile phones in order to carry out the "commemoration of June 4th" activities.

At about the same time, the two defendants dragged the fences out of the Argyle Street road about 3 meters away, intending to block traffic.

Seeing this, the plainclothes police stepped forward to stop and arrest the two.
