The Opera Theater at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts hosted a musical evening titled (Syrian Creations), performed by the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, led by Misak Baghboudrian.

Pianist Qais Safadi, oud player Kinan Adnawi, and clarinetist Bassem Salha participated in the evening, which was to celebrate the days of Syrian culture.

The stringed instruments in the first leg of the evening were the prominent star, with melodies that alternated between noise and grief, accompanied by the young pianist Qais Al-Safadi, who excelled in performing the music “Dream” composed by the late musician Dia Sukkari and arranged by the orchestral Suhaib Al-Samman, after which the orchestra recalled a section from the musician’s “Love Poem The late Syrian Solhi al-Wadi.

In the second station, the melodies of the oud, the bouzouki, and the qanun danced, accompanied by the piano and the strings of the symphony band, to the rhythm of the “polka” dance by the late author Mohamed Abdel Karim, and its orchestral composition was rebuilt to parallel the basic composition of the dance.

The music of “The Loss” composed by Maestro Adnan Fathallah had a voice uttered for the first time on the stage and on the sound of the strings accompanied by the piano revealing the secrets of human feelings. Kenan Adnawy for the orchestra as a soloist to perform the second and third movements in his music, which bore the name “Nazwa” and “Love Dance”.

The evening reached the last stop with pictures of the Syrian traditional song with a contemporary musical vision, where the clarinet player Bassem Salha presented a music he composed entitled “Variations on Your Destiny of Mayas”, in which the orchestral arrangement carried the signature of Narik Obajian, and concluded with the music “Dabkeh 1” composed by Maestro Adnan Fatah. Allah.

About the evening, Maestro Misak Baghboudrian said: “In today’s ceremony, we gathered a variety of works by Syrian authors, different from each other in the methods of composition and the patterns of the musical language used, dealing with their point of view in a Syrian musical language to present it to the public with the participation of soloists to create additional diversity in musical instruments.”

Bagboudrian added: “Heritage is the basic seed upon which the musician builds the composition of his artistic works and the melodic and auditory memory that exists in the spirit of every human being and appears in the authors’ creations, whether they were inspired by a clear, direct or hidden method, but it mainly affects its content, and the most important thing remains not to distort this heritage.”

Maestro Adnan Fathallah pointed out that this evening means a lot to him, as it bears the Syrian identity par excellence for the creations of authors who took upon themselves the passion to develop Syrian music and enrich it with important musical works.

And about his works that were presented, he explained that he worked on presenting the Dabkeh, which is considered the most prominent element of the Syrian intangible heritage in all the governorates, in an instrumental musical style with rhythms that reflect his viewpoint towards this heritage, while in the other piece he depicted the suffering of pain in cases of loss.

And clarinet player Bassem Salha stated that within the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days, a number of Syrian authors, musicians and distributors gathered to present a distinctive and diverse event in terms of musical styles, pointing out that his music carried his message by presenting his western orchestral instrument to Arab oriental music to revive the Syrian heritage and folklore with a contemporary template that simulates all artistic tastes. .

The young pianist, Qais Al-Safadi, expressed his happiness at his participation with the National Symphony Orchestra, to revive the creativity of Syrian musicians who excelled in composing orchestral pieces.
