Ten people were killed and nine others were injured in a fire that broke out in a residential building in Urumqi, in northwest China's Xinjiang region.
The Chinese Xinhua news agency quoted the local authorities as saying in a statement: “A fire broke out in a residential building in the Tianshan district of Urumqi, killing ten people and injuring nine others,” noting that the investigation is still underway to ascertain the circumstances of the accident.
Thirty-six people were killed last Tuesday in a fire that broke out in Anyang City, Henan Province, central China.
