The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the latest diesel-electric submarine of the Pacific Fleet (Magadan) fired, during its exercises in the Sea of Japan, Caliber missiles from under water at sea and coastal targets.
The ministry said in a statement today, reported by the Novosti agency, that the submarine arrived in the area secretly before carrying out the exercises, and the missiles were fired at targets from the waters of the Sea of Japan, explaining that the first missile successfully hit a sea target, which is a simulation of targeting a ship in the sea waters of a hypothetical enemy, while the missile hit The second on time hit a target out of the water at the Surkum tactical range in the Khabarovsk Territory, a thousand kilometers away.
The submarine (Magadan) is the third of its kind in a series of 6 diesel-electric submarines built for the Pacific Fleet, and joined the combat force in October 2021 in St. Petersburg.
