China revealed that it has produced the largest offshore wind turbine in the world, with a capacity of 16 megawatts, in Fujian Province, southeast China.
Xinhua said that the giant turbines have the largest capacity per unit in the world, reaching 16 megawatts, and a axis length of 146 meters, equivalent to the height of a 50-storey building.
The turbines also have the world's longest impeller diameter of 252 metres, which represents a breakthrough in high-end wind turbine manufacturing.
