Kaufering – The Bundesliga floorballers of the Red Hocks Kaufering are aiming for important points in the far north next weekend.

Like last season, two games are going to Hamburg: On Saturday, November 26th at 4 p.m., coach Markus Heinzelmann’s team wants to repeat last year’s strong guest appearance at Blau-Weiss Schenefeld, the next day on to ETV Hamburg, kick-off there is at 3 p.m.

The Reds have good memories of the school center Achter de Weiden, where Bayern won what was probably their most impressive victory (8:5) last season.

At that time, however, the Nord program was played in reverse order and went into the game without a ten-hour bus ride in the bones - that should be different this time.

“In the last few years we have always put up a strong fight with Schenefeld because it was always a six-point game for both teams.

That's why it's important that we start the game well," says goalkeeper David Winzinger, who was allowed to play from the start in last week's cup game against Frankfurt and kept his clean sheet.

In any case, the signs are quite good.

Coach Heinzelmann has hardly been able to train with a full band in recent weeks, but injuries and flu should be over by the weekend.

As of now, the coach is planning with a full squad – including Tobias Hutter, who, after his strong cup comeback last week (two goals, one assist), is also chasing goals in the Bundesliga for the first time.

Incidentally, the table situation this time should hardly be a guide to the difficulty of the task: Blue and white have said goodbye to the penultimate place in the table for the four-week World Cup and cup break that is now coming to an end.

"Schenefeld hasn't scored a lot so far, but they've had a lot of close games.

In terms of performance, the league is already extremely tight this year, we have to do everything to get three points,” says goalkeeper Winzinger, who is expecting an exciting game.

That should also apply to Sunday's game when the Red Hocks play the "Piranhhas".

There's still a score to be settled here: Although Hamburg were still playing for the top spots last year, Kauferinger brought them to the brink of defeat on the double match day in spring.

When the Red Hocks slept through the start of the last third, Hamburg shot their way to victory with three goals to make it 7:4 (final score 8:6).

This year, the Hanseatic townspeople are having a much harder time and, like Kauferinger, they are swimming in the middle of the table.

Both teams need a win to knock at the top at the end of the first half of the season.

Coach Heinzelmann: "After the long break, all the teams are probably excited to see how they will come back from the free time.

For us, this is the start of what is perhaps the most important phase of the season, because in the next few weeks we will be facing a whole range of opponents like this on an equal footing.”
