Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the statements of British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly on the internal developments in Iran and its rights to the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
Kanaani said in a statement today: The British minister's statements are baseless, and are part of the hostile political campaign that London and some other European countries are trying to wage against Iran.
Kanani added: Britain and some European countries must be held accountable for their actions hostile to the Iranian people, and they undoubtedly lack any moral consideration to raise allegations and accusations related to human rights against Tehran.
Kanani stressed that Iran's nuclear program has always been completely transparent and peaceful, so Britain, which is among the violators of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action due to its identification with America, is not in a position to question the nature of Iran's nuclear program through baseless accusations.
Kanani again denied London's allegations regarding the participation of Iranian drones in the war in Ukraine, and said: "It is the Western parties that are constantly narrowing the space for a political and peaceful solution to the conflict there by sending weapons on a large scale in the midst of this crisis."
