American rapper Kanye West, mired in a series of controversies, has suggested that he would be a candidate for the presidential election of 2024 and claimed to have offered Donald Trump to be his running mate.

The artist, who goes by the name Ye, posted a series of videos on his Twitter account overnight from Thursday to Friday, along with the "

" logo.

In one, the 45-year-old rapper reminisces about a conversation he had with former President Donald Trump, who himself announced his candidacy for the 2024 US election.

"

I asked him to be my vice president

," Ye said, assuring that Donald Trump "

started yelling at him

."

The music and fashion troublemaker had already embarked on an improbable candidacy for the 2020 American election, collecting only 70,000 votes.

At the heart of a series of controversies, Ye has been heavily criticized in recent weeks for wearing a t-shirt hijacking the anti-racist slogan "

Black Lives Matter

" and for posting comments on Instagram and Twitter denounced as anti-Semitic.

His former partner Adidas also announced on Thursday the opening of an investigation after employees of the group accused the rapper of inappropriate sexual behavior and intimidation.
