You have a clear view of the hill from the town hall: Mayor Bernhard Sontheim can well imagine a community restaurant with a hall and shooting range there.

A round table should clarify what others think about it.

Preservation of the council chambers as a meeting place for clubs: The municipality of Feldafing takes this mandate from the referendum seriously.

So serious that she's considering a location for a new community-owned eatery.

For example opposite the town hall.

Feldafing

- Although the voter turnout in the referendum to keep the council chambers was not high, the result was clear.

The citizens want a meeting place for clubs, a hall for family celebrations and meetings and a room that the old shooters can use.

It is unclear whether all this will continue to be possible in the "Makarska Grill" in the aging council chambers.

At a press conference, Mayor Bernhard Sontheim doubted it.

At the same time, he made it clear that he takes the will of the voters seriously and brought up the idea of building a new community bar across from the town hall.

"If it turns out that the council chambers can only be demolished and rebuilt, then you can also consider building somewhere else," said Sontheim.

The bad condition of the building is obvious.

The extension for the restaurant was built in the late 1990s.

The same innkeeper has been there for almost 30 years, who, by the way, wants to retire in the course of the coming year.

Nothing was invested during this time, as Sontheim clarified.

“The plumbing is no good, the kitchen is no good either, the ventilation is old and there is no fire protection.

The basement is leaking and the building is a complete catastrophe in terms of energy,” he listed.

“If we renovate, it will probably be as expensive as a new building.

" And then?

Then you could also build somewhere else - and possibly build the fire station there that was planned before the referendum on the Ratsstuben site.

The green hill opposite the town hall was already being discussed as a possible location for a new fire station.

However, it was not suitable for this purpose, too small and because of the poor transport connections through the underpass.

However, the mayor thinks that the area might be suitable as a location for a restaurant with a hall and a shooting range.

"Of course, the municipal council has to decide that," he says.

The idea came to him in the shower, says Sontheim.

"I can imagine it: the hill would give us two ground-level entrances, one for the shooting range and one for the restaurant with a hall on the upper floor." will be realized.

Then the shooting range would move to the basement.

In order to find out what needs there are and how the referendum should be implemented, the municipality wants to sit down at a round table.

There are representatives of the administration and the municipal council, the citizens' initiative and the associations.

A hall or a larger adjoining room for meetings will certainly play a role.

The side room in the "Makarska Grill" is popular with clubs, for weddings and funerals.
